Business Analyst
Solihull, West Midlands
£55,000 - £60,000 per annum
Permanent Position
Reporting to the Consultancy Manager, playing a key role across the business. The team works across pre-sales, implementation / consulting work with our clients and enhancing the Company’s suite of Energy Trading and Risk Management software.
The Business Analyst will work on a range of engagements across the business. Work is fast-paced, and involves managing priorities across multiple engagements, allowing exposure to a range of different clients and domain areas.
The expectation for this role is that the Business Analyst reaches an Expert level in subject matter in various aspects of the business and is then able to provide additional support to Sales, Account Management and Client Services functions as required.
There will also be the opportunity to collaborate with other members of the Group globally.
The successful candidate will receive excellent support in getting up-to-speed through a formal induction programme, 1:1 and group training activities. Your fresh thoughts and new ideas will be welcomed. You will be expected to grow and develop in the role, through focused self-learning and taking advantage of the opportunities provided.
Key duties will include:
· Supporting client implementations across the project lifestyle – including requirements gathering / analysis configuration and training
· Working closely with the development team to design and deliver product enhancements and customisations.
· Demonstrating our products to prospective and existing clients
· Analysing market / industry changes and their impact on the business and our clients
Key Competencies required:
· Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand client requirements and processes, and translating them into workable solutions
· Outstanding communication skills are vitally important as you will be expected to communicate information clearly and effectively to both clients and colleagues throughout the business
· You will be expected to build excellent working relationships with your colleagues and clients and work collaboratively to support the business strategy
· A keen interest in technology and software systems
· You will be a quick learner and be keen to develop towards becoming an Expert in your role
· You must be personable, be able to motivate others towards a shared goal, and enjoy succeeding as part of a team
· You should take pride in your work and enjoy what you do
Skills & Experience required:
· Education to Degree level (or have the equivalent industry experience)
· A proven track record in implementing / managing change and solving complex problems.
· Have at least two years’ experience in a Business Analyst / Implementation type role or have closely related experienced from a Software Development environment.
· Possess excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (or equivalent packages) to produce high quality documentation.
· A willingness to travel throughout the UK and Europe on occasion, to work on customer sites if / when required
Desirable attributes include:
· Experience of configuring and implementing ETRM or other complex software solutions
· ISEB BA Qualifications
· Any European Language skills – particularly French, German or Spanish
· Proficiency with Power BI and / or SQL
