Petroineos Refining and Trading is one of the largest independent refiners trading in Europe. As a joint venture between PetroChina and INEOS, established in 2011, we trade a comprehensive range of energy products and process more than 420,000 barrels of crude oil per day. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Business Analyst with excellent communication skills, to join the Finance Control & Accounting Team at our Grangemouth site on a permanent / 37.5 hours per week basis.
Purpose of role
Accountable for leading our ongoing business performance monitoring giving detailed and clear feedback to our Executive Committee, Refinery Management and Trading teams allowing learned outcomes to be incorporated into future decision making.
Determine, Evaluate and Develop the refining management performance system known as the “barrel model” in order to give detailed, focused and clear understanding to Executive Committee, Refinery Management and Trading teams of the business performance allowing refining leadership to incorporate outcomes into future decision making.
Key Skills
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills with ability to be able to see through the problems that arise and implement solutions
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, understanding of refining business and the interaction of invoicing, purchasing, trading and operations on the financial results
- Ability and confidence to present detailed and complex analysis of business performance to senior management and influence their behaviours and decision making
- A highly motivated team player with good communication skills and able to link up with Trading, site Planning and Optimisation, Hydrocarbon and Financial teams to achieve results
Principle Accountabilities
- Production of Monthly Performance Analysis
- Production of Monthly Refining Business Reports
- Production of Refinery Operating Plan
- Blue Sky and Ad Hoc Analysis
- Monthly Commercial Reporting
- Mentoring, Coaching & Training
Experience
- Relevant experience, working preferably within refining operations including a strong technical background
- Ability to understand complex manufacturing systems
- Excellent IT skills, especially Excel
- Be able to interpret and develop complex planning and optimisation software e.g. Linear Program models
