Your team: Content Platforms - The Times
Your role: We are looking for a Business Analyst to join the Content Platforms Times (NewsPress) team. You will be a part of a cross-functional team that comprises software engineering, product management, business analysis (that’s you!), QA and UX&D. This team builds and manages the editorial tools used by The Times newsroom to produce and curate world-class content every day.
In this role, you’ll show passion for technical challenges and the bravery to take risks with bold ideas. We want you to help us build self-organised, highly motivated teams with the curiosity to unravel complex problems and the optimism to take exciting, innovative approaches.
Day to day you will:
Facilitate and lead on requirements gathering, analysis and prioritisation with the Product Manager during all phases of the delivery lifecycle
Work in partnership with the Product Manager(s) to ensure backlogs are high quality in terms of content, visibility, and understanding of business value
Perform in depth analysis on prioritised initiatives in a way that they can eventually be broken down into clearly understandable epics and user stories that can be prioritised according to their clearly outlined business value
Facilitate conversations outlining potential solutions and prioritising options based on business requirements
Ensure there is feedback to the team and the business stakeholders on the value that was created
Love problem solving and be able to absorb a range of sometimes conflicting requirements to narrow down potential solutions to provide options and recommendations
What we’re looking for from you:
Business Analysis
Can analyse requirements and their wider commercial content through using techniques which are appropriate to the task and stakeholders involved such as user stories
Has experience of business analysis within an agile environment
Can oversee the implementation of new technology and systems
Facilitation and Communication
Can build, maintain and manage excellent relationships with business and technology stakeholders
Can promote collaborative ways of working between business and technology stakeholders
Can promote effective ways of working and communication within the team
