Location: This role is based at Quadrant:MK. For roles based in the Quadrant:MK, you must live within 75/90 minutes.

System Operator are passionate about capacity. We craft tomorrow's railway to meet future needs of the rail industry. Brief Description
Who are we looking for?
Were looking for a business analyst to join our practice supporting the delivery of the industry timetable technology strategy (available here). Were looking for someone experienced in requirements management, process development in a technology led environment who can work across multiple projects as part of a team of business analysts.
About the role (External)
What does the average day look like?
In this role you will develop unambiguous, complete and consistent requirements specifications, compliant with Network Rail requirements standards, to support delivery of and transition to new ways of working. You will engage with senior leaders, relevant subject matter experts and other relevant stakeholders to identify, collate and understand the detailed business requirements behind an identified business problem or opportunity. This includes analysing and documenting current processes, workflows and information exchanges to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness of service. Day to day you will analyse and interpret the impact new requirements will have on business operations and design and document the new business processes needed. You will also examine and understand data to identify improvements, risks and opportunities that drive programme delivery. You will be contributing to the development of business change plans and benefits profiles. As well as contribute to the production of high-level project plans and identify, assess and escalate project risks and issues as appropriate. You will also create and maintain the library of functional documentation related to key processes and the services they enable.
What essential skills and experiences are required?
- Demonstrable experience with business analysis tools and techniques in a complex business or project environment
- Thorough and up to date understanding of analysis approaches, tools and techniques commonly applied in the consulting field
- Strong stakeholder management
- Strong analytical thinker
- Ability to produce clear and concise written documentation
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong inter-personal skills; ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
- Business process and data modelling experience
- ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis
We would also like, but not essential.
- Knowledge of the rail industry
- Understanding of Capacity Planning systems and processes
- Knowledge of Network Rail requirements standards
