As a Business Analyst in our Cyber, Service and Technology team, you’ll be working within our central business unit supporting the design and implementation of internal business systems, as well as delivery and operation of hosted services for our diverse customer base. Your role is home based, but you will need to visit our offices to collaborate with colleagues as necessary.
It’s a key role within an evolving Enterprise Architecture practice with plenty of scope for growth, enhancing your skills and building your expertise interpreting business requirements. You’ll get a high degree of autonomy and will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our internal systems meet business needs and align with our business and IT strategies.
You’ll be engaging with business team leaders capturing and analysing business system requirements supporting the implementation of new systems and operational services.
You’ll be involved in reviewing and analysing the use of existing technologies to ensure that implementations are effective and meeting the needs of the business and end users.
You will join a diverse architecture and design team working with architects who specialise in enterprise, security and technical domains, technology specialists, and UX designers, providing an opportunity to grow as a Business Analyst making a real impact on the company and the lives of those who depend on our solutions and services.
Responsibilities will include:
- Gather and analyse business requirements using appropriate techniques with a focus on corporate business systems and centrally managed IT solution and services.
- Work independently and as part of a team engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs.
- Work with the senior architecture team to specify and implement the architecture programme of work.
- Support the technology roadmap process undertaking investigations related to new and existing technologies enabling controlled technology adoption.
- Engage with the wider business supporting programme, project, and risk management.
- Undertake continuous learning to maintain knowledge of the key technologies in use by NEC, emerging technology trends, and industry standards to support business innovation through intelligent use of IT.
Your experience will include the following skills.
- Extensive commercial Business Analyst experience.
- Experience of IT product and service requirements specification and supporting technology roadmap and procurement processes.
- Rigorous analysis and elaboration of functional and non-functional system requirements.
- Interpretation and refining of customer and stakeholder needs.
- Articulation of requirements using appropriate techniques, including MoSCoW, Use Cases and in User Stories.
- Presentation of requirements specifications for review and approval.
- Experience supporting system testing to ensure effective testing is undertaking demonstrating compliance with requirements.
- Awareness and involvement in programme and project management methodologies.
- Awareness of end-to-end software development lifecycle methodologies.
