Job description
Business Analyst
About us
At National Grid Electricity System Operator (ESO) we’re aiming to operate a fully decarbonised electricity system for Great Britain by 2035. This means using wind, solar and hydropower - without relying on any carbon-based generators to balance the grid.
We’ll be the first globally to make this amazing full transformation and we’re exceedingly proud and driven to make it happen. Come and join our exceptionally talented team at such an exciting time, in revolutionising our energy system for generations to come!
OFGEM and The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) have announced the creation of a Future System Operator for GB. We will be at the heart of it, building on the skills of our team and our world-leading track record, with enhanced skills and responsibilities.
About The Role
Team Expansion
The world of energy is changing dramatically, with increasing awareness of the impacts of climate change not just in Great Britain, but across the world. We play an instrumental part in transforming the energy system so that it can meet the government’s net zero targets; a fully decarbonised electricity system by 2035, followed by being a net-zero nation by 2050. We are constantly working to operate a greener, future energy system in partnership with the whole energy industry.
Many of our transformational activities impact the way, and the systems we use to, operate the electricity network and balance the nation’s energy demands. We are recruiting for new team members as part of our Business Analysis teams across the ESO who will be instrumental in ensuring that the transformational activities deliver the intended outcomes. These are for both Business Analyst and Senior Business Analyst roles.
If you are excited about:
- driving change and are comfortable shaping and delivering fast-paced projects
- solving complex business and energy industry problems
- doing genuinely interesting analysis
- collaboration and believe that good communication and inquisitiveness drive lasting results
- making a difference and having an impact on Great Britain’s journey to net-zero
then please consider applying to join our Business Analysis team, we would love to hear from you!
Industry experience isn’t required.
The role can be based out of Wokingham or Warwick, and we continue to offer hybrid working from the office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
Currently the team is operating on a typical pattern of 1-2 days per week in the office, depending on business and personal need.
