Our UK headquarters is based in Poole on the Dorset coast with its bustling quay, some of the best beaches in the UK and a stunning natural harbour. There is easy access to the Dorset countryside, the New Forest and the spectacular Jurassic Coast. Our main office is 1 mile from Poole railway station with good public transport links and close to both Bournemouth and Southampton international airports.
Role Summary
Flowbird Group are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Business Analyst to join their Transport Intelligence business unit in the UK.
Flowbird is at the leading edge of fares management and ticketing solutions including on premise and cloud back end server infrastructure, ticketing hardware and associated embedded software, payment devices and contactless smartcards.
The selected candidate will be working in a Hybrid Agile development environment, on innovative technical systems including embedded devices and cloud environments. You will liaise with customers, software & hardware development teams and system test teams in order to construct requirements and refine user stories for development.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand and capture requirements for large complex systems
- Manage the requirement lifecycle process
- Ensure requirement traceability at all project stages, through to acceptance and closure
- Produce and maintain metrics and visual representations of requirement status
- Support the prioritisation of development backlogs
- Defend projects against scope creep through the creation of well written and unambiguous requirements
- Lead customer requirements workshops
- Serve as requirement SME for colleagues
- Work with UX and software engineering teams to refine user stories, delivering elegant solutions to requirements defined
- Produce written documentation and reports to stakeholders
- Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices
- Assist in the preparation of functional and technical documents
- Support test and acceptance activities by presenting the clear requirement position during discussions / clarifications with the customer as required
- Support high level requirements management for pre-sales activity as required
- Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or other engineering or scientific field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge and experience in the elicitation and management of requirements in complex technical projects
- Proven experience of managing project scope through strong requirements engineering strategies
- Proven experience of working in software development environment
- Proven experience of liaising with customers on complex technical projects
- Experience of deconstructing complex requirements
- Experience of writing technical, functional and non-functional requirements documents
- Jira and TFS experience for collaboration with Product Owners during backlog management activities.
- Proficient in the use of requirements management / modelling tools
- Experience of working with clients using waterfall methodology
- Experience of working with software development teams using agile methodology
- Strong requirements engineering skills
- Commercial awareness, in relation to technical risk and scope management
- Capable of building a good rapport with customers, peers and stakeholders
- A highly proactive and technical individual willing to act on their own initiative
- A ‘systems thinker’, capable of managing requirements for multiple interrelated components
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
