We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join our rapidly expanding team in Edinburgh.
You will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and interpreting specifications, reports, user requirements and market designs.
You will use this information to create detailed requirements that are ready for implementation including but not limited to technology development, procurement, or business process design.
You will play a crucial role in helping Enoda navigate the complex energy market and stay competitive in a rapidly changing industry.

As a Technical Business Analyst at Enoda, you'll spend your time
- Conducting comprehensive research on the selected energy markets, including collecting and analysing reports related to supply and demand, pricing trends, regulatory landscape, and competitor analysis
- Analysing business requirements and translating them into technical specifications, business processes, and procurement decisions as needed
- Evaluating the competitive landscape for each product/service by monitoring competitors' activities, market positioning, pricing strategies, product offerings, regulatory changes, Enoda philosophy and market share
- Compiling and presenting research findings, market insights, and recommendations in clear and concise reports and presentations
- Staying up to date with the latest energy industry regulations, policies, and initiatives in relevant markets by closely following the relevant teams in the company
- Assessing the potential impact of regulatory or market changes on Enoda’s products or services and creating clear plans for compliance requirements and strategies to mitigate risks
- Collaborating with internal teams to support the implementation of desired functionality or process. This could involve providing training, documentation, or troubleshooting support
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders, clients, and industry experts to gather information, exchange ideas, and build relationships
- Supporting market development activities including plans to enter markets, qualifying for market services and operational support
The key experience we're looking for
- Critical thinking to interpret, draw meaningful insights from or challenge public and internal reports, summary statistics, market strategies, etc
- A solid understanding of the UK and EU electrical energy sector, including its key players, market structure (wholesale, capacity, BM (Balancing Market), Flexibility, EBGL (Electricity Balancing Guideline), DSR (Demand Side Response), etc.), regulatory framework, and current trends
- Knowledge of different energy sources, technologies, and the impact of environmental policies on the sector
- Demonstrated experience in business analysis methodologies, requirements management, UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and other forms of testing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate research findings, market insights, and recommendations
- The ability to identify and solve problems proactively, think creatively and strategically, and provide actionable recommendations
- The ability to handle multiple long-term projects and short-term priorities effectively
