Business Analyst - IT

We currently have an opportunity for a Business Analyst (BA) to join our team.
In this role, you will serve as a liaison between business users and software development teams. You will coordinate requirement sessions with business teams to understand the business and identify functional and nonfunctional requirements needed to support critical business activities. Additionally, you will conduct analysis of data integration and flows to help support the creation of design documentation and building of the nonfunctional requirements for the software delivered. The BA can also help to drive progress during the requirements stage of projects by ensuring right partners are engaged for requirement identification. The BA also helps to define the system integration points and data used across systems.
Duties& Responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements into organized, documented functional and nonfunctional requirements for reference by development teams. This includes use of requirement templates, process maps data/process flows, data mapping when applicable.
- Work closely with the business team to understand their views & issues
- Considers new or existing functionality to be integrated within business platform.
- Conducts data and systems analysis to deliver high level data maps and system integration maps.
- Assists Solution and Data Architects in development of system architecture documentation based on the analysis conducted.
- Elicits business requirements from business product teams for purpose of identifying or defining functional and nonfunctional system requirements.
- Works with Architecture team in the development and documentation of nonfunctional system requirements and design specifications.
- Manages the requirements and communication with development teams.
- Assists with testing as required– may include identification of test cases, reviewing test cases and coordination of user acceptance testing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Business, System, or 5+ years’ equivalent work experience
- Excellent communication - both verbal and written
- Strong facilitation and organizational skills
- Experience in documenting detailed business requirements (functional and nonfunctional)
- Experience with process improvement
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Understanding of software development life cycle (multiple disciplines Agile/Scrum, waterfall etc.)
- Systems/process knowledge with a strong emphasis on web-based applications, including mobile
- System and data analysis experience with mapping current and existing data flows between systems
