Job description
We are now looking for a data driven Business Analyst who can assist with our migrations programme as we bring our customers onto a new platform. The role will involve a large amount of Data analysis and interpretation and you’ll be responsible for working with stakeholders from across the business. Working with the Product Owner, you’ll be capturing and refining requirements and decomposing them into user stories as part of the product backlog.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role holder will be responsible for:
- Undertaking a gap analysis to understand the differences between existing and target platforms.
- Working with relevant stakeholders from various teams such as Product, Sales, Marketing and Engineering to quantify the gaps and make recommendations on which to close with development vs customer negotiation/education.
- Supporting the migration phase for customer cohorts, working with Sales and Customer Support on cohort analysis, as well as defining the approach to minimising and addressing customer impact during this phase.
- Working with the relevant teams including Customer Support and Learning & Development on defining business readiness criteria and producing training documentation.
- Liaising with Engineering and Project Management to support, monitor and track successful customer migration between platforms alongside the Product owner.
- Helping with escalations during the hypercare/warranty phase, acting as platform expert to support customer queries and concerns.
- Impact assessing customer change requests, rapidly writing user stories and acceptance criteria for remedial development in line with the prioritised backlog.
- Supporting the relevant work streams in defining non-functional requirements for migrations, in line with other non-functional requirements of the new platform.
- Working with the Product Owner and key stakeholders in defining and adhering to the prerequisites and definition of done for successful customer migrations.
- Working with the Product, Architecture and Engineering teams to define the technical approach to migrations, specifically for data and API migration approach.
- Supporting the Engineering team in defining and managing the test approach for migrations, for both functional and non-functional tests.

The job holder will be an exceptional candidate, with a proven track in a similar role. In particular they are required to have:
Essential
- Experience of working as a Business Analyst in an Agile team
- Stakeholder management and leading requirements gathering
- Working with software-based products, ideally in a SaaS environment through full-lifecycle delivery
- Experience of conducting gap analysis to inform decision making
- Delivering business process change as part of software delivery
- Using empirical methods to support decision making
- Excellent written and verbal communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to articulate and communicate a vision; and bringing those around on board
- Superb organisation and diligence; able to manage multiple priorities and pick out the critical detail
Desirable
- Delivering software for international markets and working with international stakeholders
- Exposure to techniques such as user story mapping, persona generation, user testing
- Collating data on product performance
- Use of JIRA, Confluence and Google Analytics
