THE ROLE
The Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the technology and processes meet the business and people needs, enabling seamless integration.
You’ll be helping as bridge in between business and Tech from both ends. Success in this role will underpin the delivery of the organisation’s strategy.
In this role, you will focus on the opportunity to order technology, processes, compliance, and operations, as well as operational excellence and scalability within projects assigned.
As a Business Analyst, you’ll perform data analysis and conduct a consistent review of data metrics to guide decision-making and enhancements to support scalability and efficiencies.
DUTIES
- Work with the accountable project manager, business subject matter experts and technical leads to ensure that the product is fit for purpose (against to be business processes)
- Analyse processes and technology tools as they are (As-is), compare them to the future and improved designs (To-be) and determine the necessary changes for arriving at the improved state.
- Document process information using visual diagrams in the form of business process models (using the Business Process Management Notation or the Flowchart Notation).
- Design business processes (To-be) and manage any subsequent changes to them.
- Examine processes holistically to understand the impact of changing them on people, strategy, systems and general business operations.
- Coordinate business processes signoffs on behalf of the accountable project manager
- Together with the test manager design a test plan based on business processes & scenarios, Undertake hands on testing when appropriate
- Work with the Training Team to identify any specific training points and/or validate training materials
- Liaise between various business departments and groups
- Assess options for process improvement, including business process modeling
- Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes and operations
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams

- Interfaces with all areas of IAG Cargo, IAG Tech and departments within BA and IB operating companies.
External
- External as required – Suppliers, Local Authorities, Planning, Customs and regulatory bodies

Skills
- Strong skills in Process Mapping and Business Process Reengineering
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Experience facilitating workshops and focus groups
- Strong business/client engagement skills
- Experience developing business requirements
- Experience developing instructional and procedural documentation and presentations
- High level of competence with MS Office and MS Visio

Qualifications
- Degree level preferably in computer science, mathematics, business management, or economics.
- Accredited Business Analysis training. Operational research, Lean/Six Sigma or BPM Certification
- Accredited Project Management training is desirable e.g. Prince2, PMP
Experience
Essential Experience
- 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Supplier and stakeholder management
- Demonstrable understanding of technology driven change & the delivery & change lifecycle
- Desktop packages including Excel, MS Visio, Powerpoint, MS Project, etc.
- Management and mitigation of risks & issues
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of project management tools and techniques
