Job description
Business Analyst
Radbroke Hall, Knutsford
As a Barclays Business Analyst your primary objective will be to help mitigate the risks of delivering major change within BUK. You will be expected to clearly define planned changes and assess the potential impacts of them. As an integral member of a programme team, you will play a crucial part in the implementation of operational and technology solutions, ensuring that the needs of customers and colleagues are met.
Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality, and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.
We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month, or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally can request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.
- Understanding the impact of requirements on Barclays UK processes, customer journeys and the business areas that use them by undertaking current state analysis
- Developing target operating models and process designs that drive the implementation of requirements in an optimal way
- Participating in project workshops, engaging stakeholders, subject matter experts and attendees at all levels
- You will be responsible for identifying risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, escalating them where required
- Working closely with our solution architects and technical teams to turn the business vision into the desired business outcome
- You will be responsible for validating both operational and technology designs against business requirements and conduct appropriate traceability
- Think creatively, and develop innovative and workable solutions
- Communicate effectively with others
- Use multi-tasking and strong time management skills in a busy and complex environment
- Be proactive and manage own workload, with minimum supervision
- Understanding business analysis techniques, in particular requirements elicitation and documentation, operational design, and business process mapping
- Have the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Have managed and influenced stakeholders at all levels within the organization
- Can deliver quality output in the face of tight deadlines
Where will you be working?
