Business Analyst
Glasgow
As a Barclays Business Analyst you will be joining The Global Cash Settlement Technology team within Markets Post Trade. This is your opportunity to be part of a team that will be responsible for leading large multi-year change programme, alongside many of teams across Barclays, to deliver the modernisation of the payments systems for the Investment Bank. There will be multiple projects, multiple asset classes and functional areas, collaborating with team across global locations.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. What will you be doing?
• Being part of a programme delivery team that works business and IT teams to help define and refine user stories by using data driven analysis or assisting/leading user workshops.
- Defining and documenting functional requirements either by use of user stories or functional requirements
- Working with the business to document Acceptance Criteria and working closely with technology development teams to ensure solutions meet the requirements
- Assisting in the coordination of and hands-on assistance with User Acceptance Testing
- Detailing gap analysis and design tasks, across multiple applications and technologies to propose solutions and assess the impact of change on systems, interfaces, processes
- Identifying or providing solution options, pros/cons and present recommendations using appropriate level of documentation for audience and consult to get agreement
What we’re looking for:
• Excellent analytical skills
- Self-driven and open minded and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Team Player and can demonstrate collaboration within and across teams
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to face off with various levels of seniority
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Demonstrable experience in a Business Analyst role using Agile and Lean principles and practices, with strong evidence of either business and technology change delivery
- Ability and willingness to take ownership for BA tasks and liaise with relevant colleagues/teams to secure successful acceptance and delivery
- Solid experience of practical use of use of Jira/Rally, Confluence
- Experience of managing tasks across different functions and across non co-located teams
