Overview:
You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience as you complete a Business Analyst - Level 4 Apprenticeship.
In terms of data presentation, the candidate will be asked to produce a new striking way of presenting data for a specific project within the apprenticeship, with support of a technical specialist.
Salary: £19,000 per annum.
Duties:
Reporting:
- A successful candidate for this role will need to manage internal working relationships within the Tracsis Rail Consultancy & the wider Transport Consultancy team.
- A successful candidate for this role will also need to manage a number of external relationships, this being the apprenticeship provider & at times Tracsis clients, for example: Network Rail.
Tracsis Rail Consultancy primarily are problem solvers, so in a number of instances we are asked to solve complex problems outside of business as usual for our clients. This is where we use business analyst expertise, to understand in more detail the problems our clients are facing.
For example, understanding what caused those problems because with that we normally get a clue in terms of possible solutions.
Our business analyst expertise is then asked to help solve the problem with our technical expertise, coming up with a series possible solutions, normally involving an element of software development.
During the apprenticeship, the candidate will get hands-on experience in this area, assisting to start with, being set specific tasks under this umbrella, for example helping creating a pool of possible solutions. But towards the end of this apprenticeship the candidate will be asked to lead the business analyst element of a small live project. Alongside this the candidate will be asked at the end of the apprenticeship to put together a PowerPoint presentation which analyses the Tracsis Rail Consultancy business itself, utilising their experience over the apprenticeship.

- Technically capable, being able to adapt to new software tools quickly, for example.
Role Specific Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
- Demonstrate a growing understanding of project management principles and their importance in the context of deadline/budget focussed work
- Demonstrate a growing understanding of business & data analytics, through personal learning and undertaking training and development opportunities as agreed with your manager
- Demonstration of potential talent for analytical thinking, being able to develop potential solutions from this, with innovative solutions in terms of presentation
Knowledge, Experience and Capabilities (Ideally, not essential)
- Basic knowledge of the transport sector
- Intermediate to Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
Entry requirements:
- Level 3 Qualification + at least 12 months of work experience* + robust onboarding plan (learner must work in the organisation for 3 months before signing up)
- OR business-related degree eg business, finance, economics, maths, etc.
- OR non-business-related degree + at least 6 months of work experience*
- OR existing staff member with 2+ years of work experience**
- Work experience relates to any valid work experience
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Key Requirements for Role:
- Does not hold an undergraduate degree in any subject, or a Level 3 or above qualification in Business or Data
- You’re not undertaking any other qualification during your apprenticeship
- Have not previously studied the content of courses detailed in this job description
- Must be eligible to live and work within the UK
- Have lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years
Future prospects:
92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally, there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
