Business Advisor - Decommissioning
If you have an interest in the energy industry, we are looking for a business adviser to join our HSE and Operations team in Aberdeen. Reporting to the Decommissioning Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a bright, motivated individual to have a key role supporting the UK energy transition.
In this role you will:
- provide new thinking on how to address the issues and challenges facing the changing energy sector in the UK, including the factors which influence investment decisions
- Initiate analysis and research to provide insight on the energy industry in the UK, whilst developing relevant professional skills to service the needs of the teams
- Advise on industry performance and delivery, liaising closely with the technical professionals and subject matter experts to address all aspects of the business
- Production of a portfolio of reports, insights and technical papers, as agreed with the Decommissioning Manager, to provide thought leadership and to help advance OEUK’s messaging and policy recommendations
- Undertake projects, including facilitating and reporting on meetings and driving progress of deliverables, in line with business priorities and the incumbent’s skills, knowledge, abilities and personal development opportunities
- Build relationships with key internal and external contacts through establishing regular contact and networking
- Ensure data and information are managed effectively, efficiently and securely with appropriate access across OEUK.
Skills and Attributes
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and attributes:
- A university graduate ideally with one year’s UK energy industry experience.
- A keen interest in, and ability to acquire knowledge of the UK energy industry
- A good understanding of financial markets and investment drivers
- An analytical mindset, with the ability to prepare, interpret and analyse complex information
- Advanced MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are essential, with an understanding of data modelling and visualisation tools e.g. Power BI, considered an advantage.
- A good communicator across teams and at different levels
- Energy and ability to work within and across teams, to inform and facilitate effective decision making and issues management
- Minimum of a 2:1 honors degree in a business, economics, mathematics or engineering related degree.
