Duties will include:
Administrating as needed alongside the Line Manager/senior colleagues and team.
Managing business planning trackers
Supporting longer term business planning risks and measures
Arranging meetings, preparing meeting papers, taking minutes and helping to organise events.
Supporting Executive support teams with managing requests, populating data, correspondence, and queries
Prioritising urgent/sensitive work; ensuring it is dealt with appropriately.
This apprenticeship will take approximately 12 – 18 months. We are looking for someone to start August 2023 with some flexibility. Employees who successfully complete their apprenticeship will be considered for permanent employment.
If you are currently studying and due to be a school/college leaver this year, we will look to commence your employment once your studies are complete.
We’ll support you through a Level 3, Business Administration Apprenticeship. Training is through online learning, and remotely delivered one-to-one coaching support.
During the apprenticeship training you will be paid at a reduced salary of 80%: £20,033.60. On successful completion of the apprenticeship this will increase to a Staff Grade 3 salary: £25,042 (at current rates)
We use smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel, but some travel and overnight stays may be required.
You’ll have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan. We’ll support you to find an incident role to suit your needs and circumstances. Appropriate training will be given.
The team
In E&B we support delivery, influence policy, and secure resources. We set the direction and priorities to deliver environmental outcomes and better regulation.
You’ll join our Business Planning and Management Team within Regulated Industry. We work closely with central and local government, industry, and Environment Agency operational teams to ensure effective delivery of business management needs for Regulated Industry and beyond.
We work as part of a dispersed team based in many locations across England.
Experience/skills required
Background and experience are not as important as your energy, enthusiasm and commitment as the apprenticeship will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to be fully competent in this role.
You’ll be completing a Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship and will do this through a combination of online learning as well as virtual and face-to-face workshops.
You will need to take responsibility for completing coursework on time, maintaining up-to-date evidence for your assessments, and put into practice what you’re learning by continuing to do your day job every day.
Successful candidates will have:
- An eye for detail and the ability to produce accurate work
- Good interpersonal, team working and communication skills
- Good organisational and planning skills and ability to work to deadlines under pressure
