Activities & Responsibilities:
Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs.
Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
Drive gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport guests and staff between neighborhoods, schools, and restaurants.
Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order.
Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
Follow safety rules as guests and staff are boarding and exiting buses, and as they cross streets near bus stops.
Pick up and drop off guests and staff at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations, following strict time schedules.
Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
Escort small children across roads and highways.
Keep bus interiors clean for passengers.
Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures.
Maintain order among pupils during trips, in order to ensure safety.
Make minor repairs to vehicles.
Prepare and submit reports that may include, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and/or fares received.

Education and Experience:
Must successfully pass written, vision, and skills test at DMV.
First aid training and certification required.
High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.

Work Environment:
Competitive hourly wage in addition to tips.
Working hours will be spent on the bus.
Some time may also be spent in an office on school grounds, waiting for pick-up and drop-off times.
Road conditions may be hazardous, especially in the event of inclement weather.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrates specific knowledge of all rules of the road.
Possesses knowledge of the layout of the local area including alternate routes to school and activities.
Possesses a strong sense of direction.
Demonstrates quick response time.
Exhibits cautious and responsible driving habits.
Demonstrates strong leadership skills.
Demonstrates ability to read and interpret maps.
Can effectively use GPS technology.
Communicates clearly and effectively with guests and co-workers.
Demonstrates ability to observe a strict schedule to ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
Possesses knowledge of basic first aid procedures.
Is capable of acting quickly and calmly in a crisis.
Demonstrates ability to remain focused and attentive at all times.
