Job Summary: Van Driver who will undertake a combination of van driver duties, dropping/removing materials to and from our sites as well as yard man duties to co-ordinate and help the logistics team.
Who we are:
We are a refurbishment and fit-out main contractor located in Rochester operating across London and the South East. We specialize in building works for commercial clients covering, retail, food & beverage, education, hotel and hospitality sectors.
The Role:
The right person will be self-sufficient in completing deliveries. Physically able and willing to unload the van, collect materials, load the van for the next day and organise the yard. This competent person must have a clean driving license and be confident in driving various vans of which includes a Luton and LWB vans. Please note *** This job is not just a driving job, it requires loading/unloading of vans, carrying materials and is a physically active job***
A typcial day will involve an early start (5:30am) into London, deliver materials, head back to the yard (Rochester) for Midday and unload/collect materials for the next day. Any days not in London (Usually 1 or 2) will involve organising the yard, collecting materials and loading the vans.
The Candidate:
o Experienced Van Driver (we also consider those with less experience however keen learners with a clean license)
o Team Player with a ‘can do attitude’
o Hands on – Proactive – Logical Thinker - Problem Solver.
o Understands the job is not always ‘’driving only''
o Experience with forklifts (desirable but not essential).
0 Knowledge of building material (desirable but not essential)
o Strong attention to detail.
o Track record of reliability, time management and a 'can do' attitude.
o Health & Safety Awareness – Adhering to Risk Assessments & Method Statements
Job Types: Temporary, Contract
Contract length: 6-8 weeks
Salary: £10.50-£11.50 per hour
