Bailey Employment Services Ltd is an employment business recruiting on behalf of our client.
Our client is based in Dunnington, North Yorkshire, and is a very busy chilled and frozen food delivery company. They require a van driver to work full time hours Monday to Friday with the possibility of occasional Saturday work. This is ongoing work but an offer of a permanent job is possible for the right candidate.
The main duties will be to arrive just before the designated start time, which is usually 07.00 in the morning and deliver chilled or frozen products to customers which are boxed, using a sack barrow. The delivery must be checked with the customer and, where required, payment collected from the customer – some customers operate on an account basis so no payment is collected from these customers but acknowledgement for receiving the goods must be obtained (POD) and returned to the depot at the end of every day. Expected finish times will vary each day but it is usual to have 10 to 20 deliveries on the vehicle each day and finish approximately 3pm to 4pm.
The driver must ensure correct management of the vehicle refrigeration compartment to safeguard the integrity of the foodstuffs on board – training will be given for this.
PAY IS £ 10.50 PER HOUR.
Guaranteed minimum 8 hours pay per day.
Applicants will need to do some handballing of the product so must be physically fit and energetic. Good customer facing skills are also required.
Applicants must also hold a UK licence with no more than 6 minor points. No DR or DD endorsements please.
