Building Services Engineer - The Wellington Hospital

Location: Wellington Main Hospital South
Contract: Permanent & full-time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8am - 16:30pm (1 week in 4 late shift and I week in 8 on-call, service hours cover vary)

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Builder Services Engineer who is eager to learn and wants to study to gain further qualifications. We are expecting someone who can provide first class building maintenance service to the hospital, comprising of planned maintenance and reactive repair programmes.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- To work on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives
- To respond to emergency and unforeseen maintenance requests
- To prioritise work requests and carry them out efficiently
- To supervise external contractors as directed by the Estates Manager or Chief Engineers
- To carry out all work in adherence to health and safety and COSHH policies and guidelines
- To assist in the development and training of staff as requested
- To assist in any refurbishments as required
- To carry out all checks on plant equipment on a daily basis
- Carrying out active repairs which are issued via Engineering Central system
Successful candidates will need:
- 2+ years' experience in similar organization - Previous experience of working in the building maintenance industry ideally within a hospital
- Has qualification e.g. City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Plumbing/ Mechanical or Working towards or industry working without qualification will be considered for the position.
- Health and Safety, COSHH
- Lifting and Handling
- General knowledge of Fire regulations
