JOB TITLE: Building Fabric Technician
REPORTING LINE: Facilities Supervisor

THE ROLE
A unique opportunity has arisen to join Rangers Football Club as a Building Fabric Technician. This role will support the Facilities Manager and Facilities Supervisor in the provision of all hard and soft services performing a variety of tasks ranging from planned maintenance, installation works, reactive breakdowns, full maintenance of hydrotherapy pools and spas, ad hoc repairs and general cleaning duties as required.
We are looking for a versatile candidate with broad experience within building maintenance who can maintain all plant and equipment in line with Rangers Football Club requirements, legislative regulations and guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver high quality planned PPM and reactive operational works to meet SLA’s & KPI’s.
- Respond positively to directed tasks to maintain outstanding operating conditions.
- Awareness of Sub-contractors on site, providing operational support as required.
- Internal and external Fabric maintenance, light Groundwork and Substructure repairs.
- Cleaning of light diffusers, changing lamps, high level cleaning, replacement ceiling tiles, carpet tile replacement/flooring condition and furniture checks, operation of door handles/door closers, condition of signs, cleaning of air vents.
- Maintenance of all pool plant at Rangers Training Ground. Conduct appropriate tests on pool/spa water quality and adjust as required and appropriate and maintain regulatory records.
- Carry out office refurbishment/relocations at appropriate times.
- To identify work, any problems, and resolutions for improvement.
- Ensure all work complies with current safety certificate requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety regulations, including L8 regulations.
- Respond to emergency call outs when required as part of out of hours on call rota.
- Carry out inspections of plant, equipment, roof, fabrics and cladding keeping required records.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance.
- Carry out statutory testing including PAT testing, fire alarm testing, fire door testing and others, as required.
- Carry out pre and post-match checks.
- Take the lead in building fabric stock management (ordering, storage, distribution) ensuring appropriate parts are held and available to meet SLA timescales for repair.
- Assist team colleagues in other trades as and when required and assist with team development including cross-trade skills sharing.
- Carry out all other reasonable duties that may be required by management team.
- Work efficiently alone and as part of the Facilities team.
THE CANDIDATE
The candidate attributes include:
Job Knowledge
- Previous experience within a similar role
- The successful candidate will ideally currently work within a multi-disciplined FM background.
- Exposure to fault-finding in multi trades: plumbing, heating, joinery, electrical, etc. would be advantageous.
Education & Qualifications
Essential
- A full driving license
Desirable
- Completed a relevant apprenticeship.
- Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Pool Plant Operations qualification or equivalent, or a willingness to attend relevant training.
- Legionella training, or a willingness to attend relevant training.
Personal Attributes
Confident, reliable individual with good communications skills both verbal and written are required. Ability to self-motivate and complete all tasks required within time allocations.
