We are seeking a digital engineering/BIM specialist to join our dynamic building services engineering team – people who revel in the opportunity to work on challenging, high-profile projects in our stimulating, inter-disciplinary design studios. You will have a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging projects in sectors including workplace, healthcare, education, historic buildings, sport and leisure and sci-tech.
About you
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in working with large and complex BIM models in a building services engineering capacity.
Responsibilities focus on facilitating our engineering team in the successful integration of Digital Engineering, whilst managing a number of concurrent projects’ BIM models. You will be required to attend relevant BIM meetings and workshops, and mentor less experienced Revit users, trainees and apprentices.
The role will also include supporting our profession wide Digital Engineering Lead in the development and implementation of BDP’s Digital Engineering and BIM strategy, and the deployment of new and advanced methods of engineering modelling and simulation.
We are looking for an individual who:
- has a passion for Digital Engineering, Building Information Modelling and innovation,
- can demonstrate their experience of projects delivered within a BIM environment (essential) with knowledge of design, calculation, and scheduling within a Revit environment (a major advantage),
- holds knowledge and experience of advanced BIM technology and preferably computer programming such as dynamo and python,
- enjoys working within a motivated team and is self-organised,
- is competent and experienced in BIM project creation, model auditing, design & coordination of mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) services and creation of MEP content,
- is able to communicate at all levels,
- possesses the ability to clearly communicate Digital Engineering and BIM concepts to clients, contractors and other design team members, producing and managing the production of BIM models, proactively ensuring coordination with all other design disciplines.
