MISSON
As Senior Marketing Manager you will be an exceptional strategic thinker, creative innovator, and inspiring motivational leader, who is ready to take on a fast-paced role driving a marketing and media strategy for the UK and Ireland NARS business. You will build programmes to drive brand awareness, recruit new users and support retail sales growth across all UK & Ireland ensuring all internal parties are aligned.

Shiseido UK & Ireland plays a central role in the EMEA region, leading the Digital acceleration agenda thanks to a team of local experts, but is also constantly reinventing its Retail footprint in this buoyant market.

Our first strength is Make-up, led by NARS, the No 8 brand in the UK market with incredible success globally, and going from strength to strength in our market.
Skincare is a key priority for expansion, with Shiseido having huge growth potential in UK&I, and also the spectacular launch of Clé de Peau Beauté in Harrods and H-Beauty. Drunk Elephant joined our portfolio at the beginning of 2021 bringing its unique tone of voice together with its amazing formulations. In 2023 we are planning to launch ULE a newly created Skincare brand with breakthrough credentials around Sustainability, as well as expanding Gallinée, our most recent acquisition from 2022 and specialized around skin microbiome.
We are also growing fast in Fragrance with brands such as Issey Miyake, Narciso Rodriguez, Tory Burch, Zadig&Voltaire and Serge Lutens.
Our clients include high-street retailers such as department stores, drugstores & chains as well as online pure players and specialty stores. We also have 4 boutiques and 3 direct e-commerce websites.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
UK & ROI NATIONAL MARKETING PLANS
- Translate Global Marketing plan into actionable local marketing plan for the UK & Ireland
- Identify local market needs and develop local programmes (in liaison with EMEA/Global teams) to ensure we maximise every commercial opportunity and support brand growth
- Develop launch strategy, in liaison with Commercial to make sure we maximise every business opportunity
- Generate new activations and ideas to maintain NARS’ leading positioning in the market and get the support of the EMEA/Global teams
- Ensure the marketing strategy is executed flawlessly across all functions harmoniously across instore and online
MEDIA
- Be creatively curious. Always considering a ‘first’ to market approach vs following the traditional path whilst keeping in tone with NARS’ nature
- Drive annual media budget development and annual media briefing process with UK/EMEA media agency ensuring smooth sign off with Global teams
- Manage delivery of UK Media execution across omnichannel platforms: deliver consistent marketing plans across physical and digital distribution, including above the line media, amplification of content and product launch sequencing. Integrate innovative channels into campaigns.
- Spearhead comms across all departments to ensure connectivity and synchronisation across full funnel planning
FORECASTING & STOCK MANAGEMENT
- Oversee the forecasting, management, showing clear ROI analysis post-activation to drive prudent decision making, whilst also demonstrating thoughtful leadership in business driving new opportunities to drive performance
- Managing Brand Manager analysis and detailed insight as well as Operational sign off with Lead Team
- Oversee key Commercial partnerships in trade
MERCHANDISING
- Work with Visual Merchandising team in the development and implementation of local initiatives
- Stay abreast of local merchandising competitor examples and feedback in preparation to product launch plans & VM implementation
PRICING & COMPETITION
- Oversee the yearly pricing review for the UK & Ireland including pricing recommendation for the full catalogue
- Monitor pricing strategies across the industry and oversee the yearly pricing review for the UK & Ireland inducing pricing recommendation for newness in
- Coordinate a competitor tracking system that covers marketing, events, online strategy and PR to ensure we keep track of competitor activities and launch plans
ANALYSIS AND REPORTING
- Continuously analyse the UK & Ireland business in-depth and elaborate in partnership with General Manager strategic actions to grow the business
- Manage NPD monthly reports with wider team, as well as ongoing category analysis to identify areas of opportunity within the business
TEAM MANAGEMENT
- Lead a team, including performance management and professional development, establishing ways of working that enable the achievement of a high performance culture
- Ensuring consistency and quality of output whilst maintaining morale and engagement with the business
- Drive meaningful relationships across local, EMEA and Global teams
PROFILE
- Relevant experience in marketing with strong career progression; ideally for a premium colour makeup brand
- Charismatic, team worker, passionate and driven personality with excellent presentation skills and a strong commercial acumen
- Resourceful and generous with their dedication, passion and energy
- Self-er and positive spirit
- Ability to work at pace and with ambiguity
- Extremely high degree of attention to detail and organisation
- Excellent English, written and spoken
- University degree or equivalent
