Description of role and key responsibilities:
- Midlands based broker relationship manager role tasked with securing rapid growth for IPF as a premium finance company
- Ability and drive to originate a large number of new relationships with insurance brokers essential in a short timescale
- Proven track record of winning and developing long term relationships with Midlands-based insurance brokers predominantly in the B2B market
- Achieve Business objectives around new business levels and other KPIs
- Develop account management plans for each broker to maximise our share of wallet
- Develop relationships and offer appropriate training at all levels within the broker
- Positive ‘can do' glass half full attitude essential
- Complete internal sales activities
- Attend industry events to build relationships with Brokers
- A good understanding of business financials/underwriting to assist with deals
- Spot opportunities for the wider Investec Bank plc group
- Provide best in class service to brokers
- Work with internal teams to ensure brokers process deals with us efficiently and effectively
- To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly
Core skills and knowledge:
- Existing network of insurance brokers which can be brought on stream rapidly to assist with growth plans
- Strong understanding of the insurance premium finance market and insurance broker marketplace
- Understand IPF's Key Performance Indicators and how they influence the profitability of the business
- Understand IPF's minimum performance standards when dealing with brokers
- Build, maintain and develop strong relationships
- Articulate the needs of IPF whilst remaining cognisant of the needs of the brokers
- Punctual and pro-active
- Solid track record of success in similar roles
- Negotiate and agree rate and volume expectations with brokers and ensure both parties remain satisfied with outcomes
- Create and deliver presentations to brokers on a range of subjects and in doing so convince a broker of a particular course of action
- Ability to analyse and comment on an inbound broker proposal for finance
- Understand the key requirements of the FCA and in particular those guidelines relevant to the broker marketplace
- Provide strong and clear management information to brokers on request
- Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory)
