About Us
Barking & Dagenham College is a vibrant and highly successful College in East London with circa 12,500 students, circa 500 established staff and a turnover of £35m. The College offers routes into learning from entry level through to MBA level, including apprenticeships, higher level apprentices, higher education and job centre plus clients. We have technical specialist areas from level 3 and above with a broad based curriculum up to level 2.
We are immensely proud of the achievements of our students, our entrepreneurial and motivated staff team and our extensive partnership network. The College trains circa 850 apprentices, including circa 110 higher level apprenticeships and delivers work place training, traineeships and higher level technical and professional specialisms up to MBA level in our 4 strategic vocational areas; Construction, Design & Management; Engineering including mechatronics & robotics; Digital Creative; Health & Social Care and Leadership and Management across the pan London occupational sectors.

We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College. We are looking for motivated, learner- centered and outstanding Broadcast Lecturer and Studio Co-ordinator who can inspire students, have a flexible and creative approach to their work; and foster the development of excellent technical learning and entrepreneurial skills.

In this role you will teach and assess on one or more of the courses delivered both in digital media including Film Production, or serviced by the curriculum area and contribute to the development of existing and new, innovative provision, including the implementation of motivational, flexible and blended learning and cost effective teaching and learning styles.
A fundamental element of this post is the engagement with industry. It is expected that the post-holder has experience of working in media and broadcast industry and still maintains connections that will support the role.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant Level 3 qualification, and possess a teaching qualification or be prepared to undertake a further education teaching qualification.
However, whilst the Job Description/ Person Specification states that a Teachers qualification is required, please still apply if you do not have this but are clearly able to demonstrate the skillset and industry experience to support and develop our learners!
We would be happy to support you in fulfilling a teachers qualification at the College or alternatively, exploring other opportunities that may be more suitable. Please ensure that this is clearly stated and demonstrated within your job application statement when applying for the role.
Essentially you will have an assessing qualification or be prepared to undertake further relevant training, and also possess a qualification in coaching or mentoring. Our ideal candidate will also hold a teaching qualification, PGCE, DTLLs or equivalent.
With your good IT and admin skills, excellent interpersonal and team development skills, and the ability to contribute to the team, you could be the whole package.
