A few ‘need to knows’
  • This role is offered with a pay band salary between £27,000 up to £32,000 for a live out position depending on experience and candidate suitability.
  • Interview(s) could be virtual or on site.
  • Interview will be a Teams Call, followed by an onsite visit including time in Brimstone and on the grounds.
  • Shift patterns consist of a five-day working week covering our seven- day weekly operation.
  • All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK and reside in a realistic commute to and from their place of work.

About Us
Our Brimstone Hotel is 16 beautifully designed suites, housed in a slate and timber clad building exclusive to its guests, staffed by a team of Hosts who are trained to deftly deliver exceptional customer service. The team take responsibility for all aspects of running the department. From housekeeper to, receptionist, concierge, to chauffeur, to breakfast chef, cocktail shaker, memory maker, and more. Taking ownership of all aspects of the department and having the autonomy to do whatever improves a guest’s stay means that the team can deliver a truly unique hotel experience. Brimstone Hotel sits independently of the Langdale Hotel, self-catering, and timeshare accommodation but has full access to all of its associated facilities as well as exclusive use of the Reading Room, the Boot Room, and complimentary use of Brimstone Spa’s Thermal Experience.
The Langdale site is set in the heart of the English Lake District and surrounded by breath-taking scenery the Langdale Estate offers a choice of luxury hotel, self-catering and timeshare accommodation, spa experiences and therapies, restaurant, and bar.

Role Requirements
  • Train and motivate the Host team to ensure that all team members take full ownership and of the department and are engaged with the key responsibilities.
  • Full accountability for all Brimstone related business activities, profitability and associated administrative tasks.
  • Control all aspects of stock including but not limited to; stock taking, stock ordering, sales reports, profit margins.
  • Be an ambassador and bastion of department vision, values, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead-by-example, direct, organise and motivate the team to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Actively seek solutions to guest queries and complaints in a manner that both protects the brand and leaves the guest satisfied.
  • Uphold, create, and innovate service standards and operating procedures to positively improve the guest experience.
  • Foster a positive culture of learning, fun, equity, and performance within the team through training, appraisal, and development programmes.
  • Coach, develop, inspire, and empower individual team members to reach their goals.
  • Adopt a ‘see it, own it, solve it’ approach to problem solving.
  • Ensure both front of house and back of house areas are cared for, well maintained, and presented in line with company culture and standards.
  • Ensure smallware’s and equipment are well maintained, loved, and sufficiently stocked.
  • Forecast business levels and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Work with Property and Service teams to ensure maintenance issues are resolved promptly and standards remain high across all physical touchpoints.
  • Work to and improve upon set key performance indicators.
  • Engage with the company’s environmental aspirations and ensure that the department is aligned with them.
  • Adhere to the company’s Health and Safety procedures and implement those procedures where necessary.
