Job description
Vivienne Westwood is looking for a Bridal & Couture Product Development Assistant to join the Couture team in the London Head Office, on a full time basis.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of raw materials and/or experience in product/garment development, in addition to experience working with SAP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Purchasing fabrics, trims, and accessories for production via SAP. Acquainted in negotiating with suppliers, achieving best price and terms on materials, sampling orders, MOQ and delivery timeframes.
- Logging all orders and fabric/trims details into SAP and Fabrics Master Chart. Manage shipping documents (through logistic dept) and track deliveries and log relative data into Fabric Master Chart/SAP.
- Chasing PO’s creation from accounts and issue to suppliers and log relative data into Fabric Master Chart.
- Chasing Proformas and invoice payments suppliers.
- Fabric and trims research for new developments and work with suppliers on custom fabrics developments. Able to liaise with suppliers about quality, sustainable options and certifications, price, and delivery times.
- Monitoring stock levels in house and sample room, ordering fabrics and components accordingly via SAP.
- Handle swatch requests from the stores.
- Inspections of fabrics and trims upon arrival. Able to promptly address and solve quality issues arising with any fabrics and liaise with suppliers. Log in relative data on SAP.
- For fabric rolls, QC, take a ref strip, label, and store each roll. For care labels, organize by type/styles and store away. Distribute to studio and sample room as needed.
- Upkeep and labelling of the fabrics on studio shelves.
- Prepare seasonal fabric books and create and update seasonal developments chart.
- Order studio/production packaging supplies (garment bags, hangers, swing tags, tissue paper). Log in all data into the Packaging Master Chart/SAP
PROFILE & KEY SKILLS
- 1 – 3 years experience in Production and/or purchasing
- Knowledge of raw materials
- Knowledge of and/or experience in Garment Production / Product Development
- Experience of using SAP essential
- Excellent administrative skills
