Homefield is a community-based independent specialist college that offers education, training and independent living skills for people with learning disabilities and communication difficulties. Most of our students are on the Autistic Spectrum with bespoke timetables to suit individual learner’s educational needs and interests.
Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed SALT Assistant who will work closely with our SALT Therapist and focusing on supporting students to participate in activities of daily living, self-care, and preparing them for adulthood and independent living.
As a SALT Assistant you will join our small and friendly multi-disciplinary therapies team which includes Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, Art Therapy and Counselling. We also offer alternative, holistic therapies such as Reiki, Aromatherapy and Reflexology.
The successful applicant will hold a relevant Level 3 qualification and Level 2 in English and Maths, however training opportunities can be offered for the right candidate. Experience of working as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant within a community learning disability team or education setting is essential, along with being creative, well organised and self-motivated and flexible to meet the needs of the organisation.
