The Vacancy

At Help for Heroes, we believe those who serve our country deserve support when they are wounded. Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds; their lives changed forever. We help them, and those still serving, to recover and get on with their lives.

And who are we you’re wondering? We are experts and beginners. Generalists and specialists. Ordinary people with an extraordinary passion towards making a positive change to the lives of our veterans (and having fun while doing it).

As One Team we share a philosophy – I.C.A.R.E. It’s the way we walk and talk, the way we interact with others and how we approach everything we do. We are:

Innovative – Collaborative – Authentic – Resourceful – Energetic.

We have an incredible opportunity for a Brand PR & Talent Manager to join our team.

About You

Are you looking for that next step in your PR career? One where you can develop and manage a much loved, national brand’s PR strategy? At the same time as owning, developing, and securing celebrity & talent relationships?

Do you love chatting to media? Building relationships and landing flagship news, podcast, or magazine coverage?

Does taking a charity brand into the worlds of gaming, sport and TV & Drama intrigue you?

If all that jumps off the page, you are experienced in planning media activity, whether its campaigning, announcements or set piece stunts, and love a creative brainstorm, then this role could be for you.

About the Role

Ultimately, the role is to develop and execute brand PR strategies and plans, which help build brand value, supporter engagement and generate income.

Whilst this is a PR specialist role, you’ll be working closely with the marketing and brand teams to plan and develop the charity’s outward image. Whether that’s driving how we make ourselves relevant to the public, developing content, stories and talking points that cut through media noise, or ensuring our celebrity patrons are used as powerfully as possible.

With media sell in, this is both a hands-on role and a management role, working with press officers to ensure they have what they need to land coverage.

About the Team

We’re a tight knit team of 9, spanning regional & national comms, PR, corporate reputation, talent, and public affairs.

A team that strives and succeeds in regularly cutting through onto leading and flagship broadcast shows.

We also love to talk about, and learn from, other brands, whether that’s sharing awesome (and awful) campaigns, stunts, and general creativity, or bringing in fellow PRs from other brands to us about their successes.

Geographically we are spread across the entire UK, from London to Plymouth, Glasgow to Middlesbrough. So long as you are willing to travel when needed and have good wifi, we genuinely welcome applicants from anywhere in the country.

About Us

Help for Heroes believes those who serve our country deserve support when they’re wounded. Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds. The Charity helps them, and their families, to recover and get on with their lives. It has already supported more than 26,500 people and won’t stop until every wounded veteran gets the support they deserve.
