ABOUT THIS ROLE
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Business Manager is responsible for the management of profitability at a specified retail location which will include all sales activity and accountability for growing and managing the ghd business.
Undertaking a proactive approach to the role, you will actively build and develop the brand and the team to meet and exceed targets. Management, motivation of the sales team, showcasing strong communication and relationship building internally and externally, in support of the region’s retail profitability is vital.
With a strong business acumen and commercial insight, you will remain aware of opportunities to build brand awareness and promotion, you will guarantee demonstrations and link-selling is actioned across your team. With an eye for detail, you will ensure brand awareness is maximised by performing demonstrations with the renowned GHD products.
As a Business Manager you will build your instore strategy and be proficient in compiling trade and stock reports The ultimate aim is to deliver the store Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) through an exceptional customer dedicated approach and delivering optimum service levels.
JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
People Management
Inspires, challenges, and stretches individual performances, coaching all team members to reach their full potential.- Work with Regional Manager, to identify future talent for succession and organises learning and development opportunities to support them develop and grow.
- Provides clear direction and leadership to all team members, delivering open and honest feedback to all regarding their performance and behaviours.
- Recruits fantastic people into the business, following the ghd recruitment process and nurtures for success to achieve a high staff retention rate.
- To prepare rotas a minimum of a month in advance that are fair and consistent, ensuring the concession is sufficiently covered at all times, attendance and timekeeping is to an acceptable standard
- Motivates, coaches, and encourages creativity giving every team member the confidence to take part, creating a fun atmosphere to work in.
- Delivers strong, effective communication daily to all team members either in written or verbal format.
- To assist and support in the on-going product knowledge and retail training for the team.
- Foster a culture of creativity and excellence.
- Role model and champion the 5Cs framework, be Collaborative, Creative, Courageous, Connected, Committed.
Sales
Manage retail sell through and execution of promotional programs at the counter via the sales team. Responsible for both individual and counter productivity. Must meet expectations and KPIs established by the brand and by the retailer.- Develop and drive sales in store to maximise opportunities by using creative ideas and initiatives.
- Develop a business plan to improve sales performance ensuring the plan is being actioned and reviewed.
- Identifies opportunities to partner with other brands instore, and external activity to develop brand identity and drive sales.
- Works closely with the Regional Manager to support any adaptation/change to business trading to reflect market changes and competitor activity.
- Analyses data available to make decisions, to stretch/build on performance and adding value to the business to ensure a return on investment.
- Conduct productivity evaluations for all team members monthly (targets, demonstration productivity, ATV, UPT etc). ensuring the team are aware of their figures and targets and how the account is performing.
- Reacts quickly and positively to changes within ghd and always looks for ways to improve the business.
- Ensure that effective stock management processes are in place to deliver the best possible store availability.
- Use every opportunity to promote the ghd brand internally and externally and monitor the performance of events and launches. Promotional recap forms to be completed and submitted to the Regional Manager at the end of the promotion.
- Develop your store Social Media presence, encouraging your team to be creative in line with company standard and policy,
Customer Service
Leads by example and coaches the team with daily ‘in the moment’ feedback to deliver an exceptional.- Actively drives customer service initiatives for the team to deliver on targets.
- Provides professional advice and support to customers so that sales are maximised leading to brand loyalty and trust.
- Uses and follows all tools and guidelines in relation to the management of attendance.
- Manage all sales activities including budget, rotas, stock management, visual merchandising, and new lines.
- Develop collaborative working relationship with host store management.
- Successfully implement promotional and marketing activity to generate sales growth and identify new opportunities.
- Strive to exceed KPI’s and targets as defined by ghd management. Set, monitor and report on performance targets.
- Ensure that customer service is of the highest standard and handles any client complaints promptly.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience of managing a sales team within a beauty retailer.
- Experience working within a flagship department store.
- Experience managing a team.
- Proven sales record.
- Practical work experience in demonstrations.
- Good level of computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to develop strategies, define processes and procedures, and monitor plans.
- Can demonstrate their ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver results on a day-to-day basis.
- Confident and capable in leading a team, with strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Ability to adjust to work processes or procedures, adapt to others and work effectively and in a positive manner when under pressure or in ambiguous situations.
- Be commercially aware of the beauty/ fashion market and trends.
- Demonstrates good networking skills (internally and externally) and actively seeks to use contacts to further their own input, impact and influence.
- Self-motivated, passionate, empathetic individual with a positive attitude, “can do” approach and entrepreneurial growth and ‘anything is possible’ mindset.
