Job description

About this role

Branch Supervisor

At Scotmid Co-operative, we are focused on serving our local communities and improving people’s everyday lives through our different businesses. We’ve been doing this for 160 years, and we will continue to work hard to do this for many more years to come. We’re a co-operative, which means that we are run by our members for the benefit of the local communities that we serve.

Scotmid food’s aim is to be Scotland’s preferred community convenience retailer and a key factor in achieving this is through our people.

Our Branch Supervisors are an essential part of the store management team, sharing responsibility for a number of key areas throughout the store and deputising for the Store Manager and Senior Team Leader in their absence. With a natural flair for team work, Branch Supervisors enjoy taking responsibility and are confident in thinking on their feet to resolve a variety of everyday challenges – all with a positive outlook while maintaining great customer and colleague relations.

As a Branch Supervisor you will be a key-holder, often opening or closing the store, and be hands-on in ensuring store standards are second to none and that the store is safe and legal. You will motivate the customer service team to provide a professional, friendly and enthusiastic service at all times, leading by example on food preparation and service, food safety, stock management and customer service.

While previous supervisory experience in retail, particularly in grocery or food to go, would be an advantage, we are looking to hear from anyone with great customer service and team working skills.

We are passionate about supporting, challenging and developing people to be the best they can, and we offer a comprehensive induction and training program to quickly get you up to speed with our business.

To ensure that we comply with alcohol licensing legislation applicants must be aged 18 or over.

With excellent benefits, competitive hourly rates and opportunities to develop and grow, a Branch Supervisor position with Scotmid is a great way to progress your retail management career.

Rate of pay: £10.82 per hour.

Weekly Hours: 32 Hours

Store Address: 38-42 Murdieston Street, Greenock, Inverclyde PA15 4SJ
