Job description

Pure Permanent Recruitment are seeking a Non-Pharmacist Branch Manager for a client based in Corby, Northamptonshire.

This is a permanent position requiring the successful candidate to work 5 days out of 7.

Working hours: standard with one late night until 21:00pm. Will be required to work alternate week ends with 2 days off per 7 day cycle.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for Managing a Pharmacy
  • Dispensing and distributing of medicines
  • Responsible for the supervision and Training of all the other Pharmacy staff.

Reports into: Business Development Manager, CEO, SIP

Key responsibilities:

· Dispensing Prescription medicine to the public in accordance to the regulations and contractual obligations

· Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organising and directing technician’s workflow, verifying their preparation and labelling of medicines verifying order entries, charges and inspections

· Complies with NHS contractual obligations and GPHC regulations

· Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations

Personal specification:

· Good communication skills as you must be able to listen carefully to what patients say, as well as be able to explain complex and sometimes sensitive information to the general public and other healthcare professionals.

· Ability to work with others in a multidisciplinary team and lead with others in a team

· Concern for the welfare of the general public

· Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail

· A methodical approach to work

· An understanding of business principles

· A professional and confident manner

· A willingness to take on a high level of responsibility.

· High level of IT literacy and numeracy.

· Working towards or completed an accredited NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) Dispensing Assistant training course under the guidance of the pharmacist or registered pharmacy techinican.*

*It is a legal requirement when working within the dispensary that you are either working towards or have gained your level 2 certificate, or equivalent GPhC recognised qualification.
