Job description
As a Bradford Buddy Volunteer you will be matched to an adult with a learning disability and/or autism who share a similar interest, to support them with having a fun and varied social life. (This could include evening and weekend activities)
From live bands to bowling or pub quizzes to theatre, you and your buddy will decided what events or activities you might like to do together. Being a Bradford Buddies volunteer means your are able to support someone whilst enjoying things your already do or allows you to try new things whilst also make a new friend You will meet once or twice a month and can also attend groups socials to develop wider social circles and informal support networks.
Bradford Buddies is a part of the wider Gig Buddies network and was rebranded in 2022 from Gig Buddies Bradford. We are in a partnership with Mencap, Age UK, Stay Up Late and funded by Bradford Council.
What skills do I need?
- 18 or over.
- Friendly and approachable.
- Reliable and patient.
- Passionate about improving the lives of people with a learning disability and autism.
- Good communication and listening skills.

- Bradford: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
