Botanical Horticulturist (Wakehurst)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated full time horticulturist in our Asian Heath Garden. The area will be undergoing a significant change over the next few years as we develop our new Silk Road Steppe. Applicants will have sound experience of working in a botanic garden or similar, and/or recognised horticultural qualifications. The position requires you to be organised, self-motivated and articulate when dealing with visitor enquiries.
This post is based at Wakehurst, near Ardingly in West Sussex where you will form a key part of our horticulture team.

You will be hands on, working alongside your team to maintain the Asian Heath Garden and to practically implement the new Silk Road Steppe. You will show competence and understanding in the seasonal requirements of perennial and woody plants and to demonstrate the required horticultural skills and techniques to our apprentices and volunteers.

The salary will be £24,252 - £26,947 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
