As a Jr. Bookkeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with various accounting tasks specific to the trucking industry. Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and process invoices, bills, and expense reports.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Monitor and track accounts payable and receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and assist with collections.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes.
- Generate financial reports and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support the senior bookkeeper and accounting team with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification or diploma in accounting is a plus.
- Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in the trucking industry.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office/ G suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
