RECRUITMENTiQ is working in partnership with a Plumbing & Heating business that currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper to work within a family-run business.
We are Perth's premium plumbing, heating and electrical business and has been looking after our customers for over 40 years. As well as traditional carbon-based fuels, we install and maintain renewable energy systems, including solar PV, air-source and biomass.
With a team of over 30, we work with a range of customers, from homeowners to multi-site commercial organisations. Among other projects, we’re working on a luxury 14-bedroom home in the Highlands and planned maintenance for Scotland's most exclusive leisure providers.

The Role
You’ll work in a modern office environment as part of a friendly, forward thinking and proactive team using effective cloud-based systems.
You will be responsible for preparing monthly accounts, and supplier payments, and completing and submitting VAT returns. You will ensure that accounts are ready for review by the accountant at year-end and answer any queries the accountant and team may have.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate sales invoices
- Prepare monthly accounts.
- Prepare supplier payments.
- Complete and submit VAT returns.
- Reconcile bank account.
- Ensuring accounts are ready for review by the accountant at year-end.
- Supervise accounts assistant.
- Assisting the accountant and the team with queries.
- Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the company and/or its customers to your line manager.
- Complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with accounting codes, legislation, working practices, procedures and health and safety.
- Follow risk assessments, and method statements and assess the scope of work Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experienced bookkeeper with at least 3 years of experience.
- Sage 50 knowledge.
- Expertise in Microsoft's M365 products.
- Able to demonstrate the knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations associated with the role.
- Ability to organise your workload effectively and to deliver work to expected deadlines.
- Flexible approach to duties undertaken and working hours and able to work as part of a team, if and when necessary, as well as on your own.
- Enthusiastic approach to work with a positive can-do attitude.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Willingness to acquire and develop new skills and qualifications as required.
