The Role
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper/Finance Assistant to maintain Recast’s financial records and ensure that transactions are accurately processed on a timely basis.
Bookkeeper/Finance Assistant job duties include working closely with our CFO to ensure we are tax compliant, process accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, expenses, manage invoices and the monthly financial close.
The role is part-time and expected to average out at 3 days per week with some degree of flexibility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of financial accounting; billing, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee expenses and VAT
- Enter data, maintain records and create reports
- Ownership of month end processes: bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and monthly journals
- Preparation of quarterly EU and UK VAT returns
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports
- Organise information and statements for external auditors
- Ensuring company complies with all additional legal and regulatory requirements
- Additional controller duties as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Bookkeeper/Finance Assistant, preferably in a start-up, highly IT automated environment
- Finance / accounting degree and/or accounting qualifications
- Strong computer skills; experience in accounting software (preferably Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and IFRS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
- Attention to detail
Job Details
This is a part-time position in central Edinburgh, expected to average out at 3 days per week. We anticipate the role being office-based for a minimum of one day a week, with the feasibility for everybody to work in the office more if they prefer to.
Salary : £32k pro-rata (£19,200 for 3 day week)
