We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated bookkeeper to join this small team on a part time basis. The company currently uses Xero, however they are open to moving to QuickBooks.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the internal bookkeeping which includes:
- VAT.
- Reconciliation of all major balance sheet control accounts.
- Sales ledger.
- Purchase ledger.
- Collection of monthly payroll data for the external payroll bureau.
- Updating of management information and a cashflow forecast in Excel.
- Support with some administrative duties when required, such as telephone answering.
This role is offered on a part time basis (2 days per week) either employed or self-employed. Hybrid working is offered, with an expectation of being in our office near Plympton at least once per week, in particular for the first 3 months as you learn about the business and get to know the team. Hours are flexible as are the days you chose to work (by mutual agreement).
The successful candidate will have a meticulous attention to detail, extensive experience working in a bookkeeping role, strong communication skills and be able to share information in a way that is easy for others to understand.
Must haves:
- AAT qualified is preferred, but candidates with relevant experience will equally be considered.
- 3 years plus working as a bookkeeper.
- High level knowledge of QuickBooks and Xero.
- Proficient in Excel and MS Word.
- Able to work on your own and as part of a team.
The salary or hourly rate for this role is negotiable, depending on experience, and starts at £11.25 per hour.
