A growing Accountancy Practice is seeking a part-time bookkeeper with practice experience to work for 3 days per week with a full-time position becoming available within the next few months if the applicant so wishes.
Evans and Co Hospitality Accountants are a boutique Accountancy Practice based in Liverpool that primarily work with Limited Companies within the hospitality and catering industry.
The role is hybrid and would suit an experienced individual who is able to work independently as the role is fully flexible in terms of working arrangements. You must be able to travel to L13 6RQ for the occasional check-in and for the first few weeks of the role.
We're fully flexible on work hours, days, and location- we focus on deadlines, not timesheets. Our current team choose their own days and times that they work to fit around their personal lives. The current team is made up of accountants and bookkeepers, payroll specialists, and admin. We focus on providing a premium service to our clients rather than being volume driven.
Responsibilities:
Processing receipts and payments
Issuing invoices, statements, and remittances
Recording financial transactions
Ledger management and reconciling bank accounts
Preparing financial reports
Dealing with client and supplier queries
Monitoring and chasing-up debtors when necessary.
Preparing VAT returns
Preparing sole trader accounts
Assisting with Management Accounts
Preparing Limited Company accounts up to Trial Balance
Proficient in using accounting software and spreadsheets for data management
Stay updated on governmental accounting regulations and compliance requirements

Package:
Salary of £27,000-£30,000 per annum, pro rata DOE.
22 days plus 8 bank holidays with the option to work the bank holiday and take it elsewhere.

A 10% recurring monthly revenue share on any clients brought into the firm for as long as you work with us.
An extra paid day off for any staff nights out
An extra holiday day for each year worked (to a maximum of 10 days per annum pro rata)
Flexible working (some of our team work at the office during school hours and at home in the evenings, whereas others prefer to be predominantly remote or office based).
Required Skills & Experience
Practical experience of using Xero.
A minimum of 2 years’ Practice experience is essential.
Process driven- you will have the opportunity to develop your own policies and procedures.
An understanding of journal entries and adjustments.
Able to process and file VAT Returns.
Outcome and results focused- we don’t bill based on time.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience with other cloud-based software such as GoProposal, QuickBooks, Sage, Syft Analytics, Pixie etc.
Experience of working with and/or in the hospitality sector.
Experience of preparing sole-trader and partnership accounts.
