Development Engineering is seeking an experienced Accounting Bookkeeper in London, Ontario to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing our financials, day-to-day receivables and payables, financial statements, and banking.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and projections for internal strategic review and for formal year-end documents in conjunction with our accounting firm.
- Reconcile bank accounts, Ajera, Sage, expenses, and credit card statements
- Prepare payroll processing and ensure timely payments to employees, and review timesheets for general conformance
- Manage general ledger accounts, monitor outstanding receivables, and perform month-end close procedures
- Prepare and file sales tax returns and other tax compliance documents
- Prepare ROEs and T4s and assist with onboarding/offboarding tasks
- Assist administrative staff and project managers with invoice preparation and finalization
- Assist with administrative organization and support leads in day-to-day operational administration
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in accounting or bookkeeping or related field is required
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian Legislature for compliance requirements and an understanding of financial principles are required
- Experience using Sage 50 Premium Accounting Software and Payworks for payroll required
- Experience with invoicing using Deltek Ajera software is a benefit (training will be provided)
- Transactional Human Resources skills is a benefit
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
