Blackstock Farm Co Ltd , established in 2005, is a family owned and run award winning events and retail business. Its head office is in a beautiful rural location in Hellingly, East Sussex with views over the surrounding countryside and towards the South Downs National Park.
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will have experience in using Xero accounting software to manage all bookkeeping needs for our growing wedding, events and retail business. Working from our beautiful rural location in your private, secure office you will report directly to the Company Directors as needed. Although a predominantly Monday to Friday role, there may be flexibility for the right person to adjust their hours on a job finish basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily bank reconciliation.
- Raising sales invoices and emailing them to customers.
- Processing and payment of purchase invoices.
- Completing VAT returns.
- Keeping tidy and accurate filing for audit purposes.
- Answer telephone calls and take messages.
- Maintain an up-to-date contact list of clients and vendors.
- Liasing with payroll and HR providers as needed.
- Assisting the Directors and Accountants as needed.
Essential Skills:
- As a premier wedding venue, professional and accurate verbal and written communication is a minimum requirement when dealing with customers.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to both work in a team and independently as needed.
- Self-motivating.
- Ability to use Xero and Quickbooks accounting software, Excel, Word, Outlook and our bespoke events software after training.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
