Job descriptionThe Limes Retirement Home LimitedBookkeeper/administratorCompany descriptionThe Limes Retirement Home is a privately owned care home that offers a wide range of care needs, including dementia and palliative care.Situated in the small village of Mellis close to the Norfolk-Suffolk border. The Limes Retirement Home is an 18th century house that has been modernised throughout, including new extensions and outdoor cottages.The home is surrounded by a lush green common and has a large well-maintained garden with flower beds, seating areas and animals such as chickens for the residents to enjoy.The accommodation comprises of 26 single ensuite rooms which are all tastefully decorated to express a homely, warm, and welcoming feel.Job descriptionWe are currently offering a hybrid bookkeeping/administrator role within the home to support the Manager and Deputy Manager with the day to day running of the business.The role will entail various bookkeeping duties in addition to health and safety, fire, food hygiene, staff contracts and training and keeping abreast of documentation surrounding risk assessments and policies.As our bookkeeper/administrator you will be in a central role within the home, preparing and keeping records of financial information for use by the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager. You will be required to carry out day to day sales and purchase ledger tasks. You will also work with the home manager collating information for relevant inspections.Part time15 hours per week: Flexible work pattern availableSalaryFree food and free parkingResponsibilities and dutiesDuties of the bookkeeping/administrator include but are not limited to:· Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data onto Sage accounting software and filing hard copiesMonthly reconciliation of the company bank accountReconciliation of council control accountsAssisting the Accountant with administrative duties and reconciliation of control accounts in preparation of yearly accountsWorking alongside the Deputy Manager in reconciling customer accounts and applying payments to invoicesProviding payroll documentation for paymentCreating staff contracts and training contracts for new employees ensuring staff employment files are maintained and up to date at all timesManagement of the fire folder keeping up to date with current legislationManagement of food hygiene throughout the home ensuring staff are up to date with training, in addition to monitoring kitchen documentation and store room suppliesAssisting with maintenance checks both weekly and monthlyLiaising with suppliers booking in remedial works, biannual or annual maintenance checks and certificationsUpdating and creating company policies and proceduresUpdating and creating company risk assessmentsRecording and documenting minutes held for staff meetings and fire drills conducted within the homeGeneral administrative duties within the homePlease note that the job description only depicts some of the key duties of and responsibilities, these may vary over time and in accordance with new laws and regulationsSkills and personal characteristicsThe ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:Working knowledge of Sage 50 accountsStrong attention to detailExperience of working in a bookkeeping roleHave strong IT skills, working with both Microsoft Word and ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAn ability to work independently and prioritise work efficientlyFriendly and positive attitudeWilling to learn and take on challengesFlexible approach to workQualifications and experience1 years’ experience of working with Sage 50 Accounts (Essential)2 years’ bookkeeping experience (Essential)Job Types: Part-time, PermanentPart-time hours: 15 per weekSalary: Dependent on experienceBenefits:Discounted or free foodOn-site parkingAbility to commute/relocate:Eye, IP23 8DY: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Work Location: In personJob Types: Permanent, Part-timeSalary: Up to £11,031.96 per yearBenefits:Discounted or free foodFlexitimeFree parkingSchedule:Day shiftFlexitimeMonday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate: Eye: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Experience:Sage 50: 1 year (required)bookkeeping: 2 years (required)Work Location: In personReference ID: Bookkeeper/Administrator
