Job description
Working within an extremely busy administration team the role consists of collating information which will be sent out to Optometrists and then once the patients information is received back in the service you would be required to input the information on WPAS and an excel spread sheet and create clinic templates.
You would also be required to collate data and report back to the management team weekly.
Answer all telephone enquiries into the department promptly , dealing with queries, progress chasing, in a tactful, professional manner and ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained. Using judgement, empathy and tact to assess situations as they arise and take the appropriate action, escalating to the appropriate manager when necessary.
Processing referrals received into the department from a range of health care professionals. Ensuring the referral is dealt with appropriately for that service and where necessary updating specialty specific databases with referral details and outcomes.
Liaise with colleagues, secretarial staff and clinical staff and other departments and external health care professionals as necessary to provide a courteous and efficient patient access service.
Ability to multitask and maintain high levels of concentration and accuracy in an environment where interruptions are frequent and can be unpredictable. Responding to queries from patients and health care professionals in a friendly and professional manner.
