We are currently looking to recruit an AAT qualified Payroll & Accounts / Bookkeeper Officer with immediate start. This position is to work part time covering 8- 12 hours per week (sometimes more), preferably over 1 to 2 days. There is some flexibility around the days you would like to work. This position is on a self-employed basis working for a well-established hair salon group in Birmingham.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analysing account information.
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Possible additional payroll responsibilities.
- Process and post journal records for accounting, account receivables and payroll
- Process pension report for NEST Pension scheme on a monthly basics.
- This role is also includes all the tasks of carrying out general ledger account reconciliation, as well as other accounting operations.
- To ensure the processing of payroll monthly, organizing employer and staff PAYE matters and ensuring prompt payment.

Salary: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
