d20 Board Game Cafe
Full Time Watford, East of England, England 10 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

Who are you working for?
d20 has been open since January 2017 as a community focused Board Game Cafe in central Watford. An inclusive hub for people to hang out, meet new people, play games, and enjoy tasty food.

You would be working as a part of a close-knit team, working hard but also having fun. Working at d20 means being reactive, going at full speed and multitasking when we are busy; as well as making the most of the down time by cleaning or maybe even learning new games. At d20 our staff are quite flexible, working both in the kitchen and FOH. Shifts are within the hours of 12:00 - 23:00 Friday to Sunday, so you must be willing to work within these hours

The perfect candidate will have a natural ability for cooking and be keen on customer satisfaction. No formal experience necessary as training is provided. We are a small team so you must be willing to muck in and help out in all areas of the cafe.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing food and drinks to order (including, alcohol, blended drinks and barista drinks)
  • Serving customers and working the till
  • Learning and teaching board games
  • Washing glasses & dishes
  • Stock checks
  • Deep cleaning
  • Dealing with waste refuse
  • Any other management requests

Requirements
Ready to follow instructions, you should be a driven and confident individual who is adaptable and never leaves a job unfinished. A good attitude is a must as well as being a team player. A sense of humour and ability to work in an informal environment is mandatory!

What do we offer?
- Flexible rota
- An enjoyable work environment
- Meals on shift
- Discounts in store

This would be a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the running of a small food business or looking for some additional part-time income.

Application
Please apply with CV and a covering letter. We really pay attention to the cover letter so let us know about you. Amusing applications encouraged!

We operate an equal opportunities policy and recruit only on the basis of work criteria and individual merit. Diverse applicants encouraged. By law we are required to ensure that anyone taking up employment at d20 Board Game Cafe has a legal right to work in the UK and you will be required to demonstrate this.
