The department of Clinical Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Biomedical Technician 1 to work at UHealth. The Biomedical Technician 1 performs a variety of routine tasks, including the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment, under the supervision and guidance of a more experienced biomedical engineer.
Plans and organizes the monthly preventive maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion and documentation of the inspection, testing and maintenance work orders.
Plans three months in advance for the required availability of supplies and parts to perform PM activities.
Prioritizes all medical equipment repairs and documentation requirements.
Coordinates third party vendors PM activities to ensure timely completion and documentation.
Performs rounds with department managers and directors and documents service requests.
Provides timely communication to all service requests and customer issues.
Utilizes standard and specialized electronic test equipment and tools.
Repairs, tests, and calibrates medical equipment according to OEM/AEM specifications in accordance with Joint Commission standards.
Assist in enforcing recall and safety alert programs for medical devices, including medical device hazard investigations.
Assures compliance with patient safety goals and applicable requirements.
Completes 100% of scheduled ITM’s assigned on a monthly basis.
Orders replacement parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment.
Prioritizes workload effectively and completes all work assignments in a timely manner.
Maintains accurate documentation as required by current policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in relevant field
Minimum 6 months of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
