RECRUITING NOW: MEDICAL ENGINEER (SITE-BASED)
ROYAL VICTORIA HOSPITAL, BELFAST
Avensys currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced medical engineer to work within the Royal Victoria Hospital, a leading and established hospital, located in Belfast.
In this engineering role you will be responsible for approximately 580 devices, including the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and repair of a range of medical equipment which includes patient monitoring, infusion pumps, surgical diathermy, operating tables, defibrillators, patient warming, patient hoists and surgical trolleys.
You will also be responsible for maintaining equipment records via our bespoke online device management system. This system will forecast and plan PPM visits and you will be responsible for arranging access to devices with clinical staff. Via this online system, you will be expected to undertake KPI reporting on equipment availability and reactive response times.
Control of third-party providers will be required, including arranging subcontracts, booking visits, maintaining history via the online device management system, arranging access and accompanying the third-party engineer for the PPM and repair of endoscopy stack systems and scopes, anaesthetic machines and ventilators.
Control and management of inventory repair parts and consumables will also be in your remit.
Please note, in this role, a team of critical care scientists will assist with 1st line faults for some of the equipment.
The Required Skills
Here at Avensys, we pride ourselves on the quality of our engineers. You will therefore be a skilled medical engineer with previous experience of maintaining and servicing bio-medical equipment. You must have strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers. You will need an understanding of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. Previous database experience is also an advantage, with high attention to detail, to ensure records are correctly maintained and activity is recorded accurately. With an unsurpassed reputation for engineer training, OEM training can also be provided, if required, for the successful candidate.

- Salary : £35,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Contract Term: Permanent. Site-based at Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast
- Hours of Work: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday
