We are actively looking for a Billing Analyst with AEC industry experience to join our billing team. The billing analyst will facilitate and lead billing team efforts. They will work with both internal and external clients to design, implement, standardize, and streamline policies and procedures. Majority of client work is infrastructure engineering consulting. The right candidate can work remotely but needs to be located near any of our offices in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, or Texas.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Ensure invoices are created correctly following the customer requirements
- Review financial section of contracts to ensure invoices are set up in accordance with contract requirements
- Develop and Document Billing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in alignment with M&N best practices and ensure effective support
- Partner with Project Financial Analyst (PFA) team in regard to resolving issues, coordinate efforts and follow up on action items as discussed in the monthly biller meetings
- Review top unbilled and AR projects on a monthly basis to ensure comments are entered/updated and follow up on status
- Respond to audit requests to confirm the billing group is in compliance
- Backup to PFA for Project Manager and Business Unit Leader questions and specific needs (i.e. run reports, open and close projects, research/resolve financial questions, suggest improvements, etc)
- Conducts contract closeout billing - maintaining/analyzing, and project unbilled
- Prepare project invoices and finalize with project management team
- Discuss billing issues with the project managers and/or clients
- Work closely with Project Financial Analyst and accounting staff
- Review and analyzes financial health of projects
- Identifies and resolves any project billing (AR or unbilled) issues
- Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
- Retainer Review and Process
- AR Collection
- Bad Debit write-off/credit
- Others as required
- Serve as centralized point of contact with other departments related to issues associated to the billing group such as new software, new procedures or processes
- Train and mentor new billing specialist
- Support team with exception billing issues
- Assist billers with questions or project billing setups
- Schedule training sessions as needed
- Responsible for coordinating backup biller for staff

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and/or finance; required
- 7 - 10 years’ experience in engineering consulting, construction, or architecture industry; required
- 5+ years of recent experience in billing in ERP System like BST; required
- Minimum of 2-3 years in billing of Navy/SeaPort-E contracts
- Must have CPFF, FFP and T&M style invoice experience
- Defense Contract Acquisition Agency (DCAA) / Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements is a must.
- Project Setup experience
- Federal/DOD contracts experience
- WAWF (Wide Area Work Force) experience
- Has billed contract with Multiple CLIN/SLIN/ACRN's on one invoice
- Able to maintain AR and collection calls
- Advanced experience level using Deltek/CostPoint and Deltek/Cognos
- Understanding and able to explain unbilled
- Ability to work independently with short/tight deadlines
- Good with communicating with internal, external customers, and co-workers
- Strong in Excel, Word, Outlook and Concur
- Excellent written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well alone and as part of a team.
- Good understand the cause and effect of all billing processes to the project financials and company
- Good understand billing terms for Cost Plus, Time & Material and Fixed Price contracts
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:
General office setting.
Physical requirements:
Ability to use standard office equipment. Sits for a prolonged period of time. Travel not required. On occasion may travel to another office within 20 miles radius.
