The Role:

As a Coordinator working with Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and key stakeholders across Westminster, you can make your own powerful contribution to boosting the local economy and enhancing communities. Joining our Business & Enterprise team, and reporting to the Business Support Programme Manager, you’ll be a key point of contact for the 17 BIDs within the city and will foster strong and collaborative working relationships with key strategic partners and all council departments.

BIDs generate hundreds of millions of pounds of extra investment that is plugged into improving local areas and supporting businesses. With an evolving BID landscape and being home to the highest number of BIDs compared to anywhere else in the country, this exciting role will focus on harnessing the strong partnerships, key stakeholders, internal and external, and will act as the council’s dedicated point of contact for all Westminster BIDs. You’ll support with the coordination of BID ballot processes, handle queries from BIDs and their business members and escalate them to relevant council departments, lead on the coordination and development of the WCC and BIDs framework, facilitate planning proposals, and ensure our BIDs continue to deliver meaningful outcomes for Westminster’s communities in partnership with the City Council. About You:

You’re likely to have a solid track-record of establishing and building partnerships and productive working relationships across government and commerce. Your knowledge of economic development or business support should include a good understanding of the contemporary business and enterprise landscape, including the economic challenges and barriers to growth that are currently facing businesses. Significant experience of dealing with BIDs and BID ballot processes are essential, as well as a good understanding of Westminster’s diverse business base. A good grounding in project management is essential to success, and you’re likely to have some experience of event management and the preparation of reports.
