Role: Bid Writer

Based: Longridge, Preston Walter Carefoot & Sons (Construction) Ltd is a successful

Construction Company who continually strive to be at the forefront of their Industry in North West England. We are a regional contractor with over 90 years’ experience of working on projects ranging from £500,000.00 to £10M in value. We operate under a number of Framework Agreements carrying out Partnered Projects for the Public and Private Sector, principally focusing on the Education, NHS, Commercial & Leisure Sectors of the Industry. Due to the continued growth of our company we are expanding our team and have a vacancy for a Bid Writer.

Job Role

To support the Preconstruction Team in the creation and preparation of quality bids and proposals, these include Expressions of Interest, Capability Statements, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires and Tenders. The Bid Writer will also take ownership of all incoming enquiries.

Some of the Responsibilities will include

  • Understand the rules for Tendering, the timescales and responsibilities
  • Ensure timely management of all Tender activities
  • Maintaining Social value culture, partnering with social enterprises and charities
  • Coordination of both the Quality and Commercial elements of any Bids to ensure a smooth process
  • Obtain feedback from all Clients relating to both successful and unsuccessful Bids to improve future Bids.

The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Competency with Microsoft packages
  • Keen eye for detail and production of high-quality work
  • Imaginative and innovative approach to bid submissions
  • Knowledge of TOMS framework
  • Well organised and work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
